This is a photo album of an aircraft mechanic Guard captain G.V. Martynovskiy who served in the 21 Konigsberg Red Banner and Suvorov 3 class Order Air Fight Regiment of the Red Banner Baltic Fleet. Album contains photos taken in the period 1944-1945. There are photos of regiment commander and winner of the honour title Hero of the Soviet Union P.I. Pavlov. There are portrait and group photos of regiment commanders, pilots and engineers. There are photos of Yakovlev Yak-9 fighter planes. There are photos of several regimental award ceremonies: Red Banner Order ceremony with a commander of the Baltic Fleet rear-admiral Tribuz and Suvorov order award ceremony with a commander of the South-Baltic Fleet admiral Levchenko.

The group of photos was published in archive taken during operation ‘Zitadelle’ at the railway station Ponyri in June of 1943. There are photos of disabled heavy tank destroyers Panzerjäger Tiger (P) ‘Ferdinand’ of schwere Panzerjäger-Abteilung 654, including the photo taken inside of ‘Ferdinand’. There is a photo of disabled armoured ambulance SdKfz 251/8 of schwere Panzerjäger-Abteilung 654 with red crosses painted instead standard black Wehrmacht balkenkreuz and photo of disabled self-propelled gun Sturmpanzer IV ‘Brummbär’ of Sturm-Panzer-Abteilung 216. There are photos of disabled and destroyed various tanks PzKpfw III and PzKpfw IV of 2. Panzer-Division, the photo of destroyed PzKpfw III (Funk) Ausf L of Panzer-Kompanie (Flk) 313, photo of abandoned 5 cm PaK 38 anti-tank gun and disabled soviet heavy tank KV-1 S.

There is a new sub-section for vehicles and motorcycles related photos have been added into the Germany section! There are first five photos were published there: model 1933 Wanderer W22 Kubelwagen car with RAD pennants, the Renault AHN truck with an emblem of the 6.Infanterie-Division, thevehicle column of Luftwaffe anti-aircraft unit in Russia and two photos of Mercedes-Benz trucks from the same unit.

There are two new sub-sections for aviation related photos and portrait photos in Japan section added. The first group containing 20 photos related to Japanese aviation has been published in both these sub-section: 14 various training and fighter planes photos (Yokosuka K4Y and K5Y1, Nakajima Ki-84 Hayate, Tachikawa Ki-36). Six photos of portraits and group photos of pilots and cadets of Japanese Air Forces.

There is a new sub-section for aviation related photos in the USSR section. There are five photos have been published there: mission briefing for reconnaissance air squadron and their Petlyakov Pe-2 planes, photo of Pe-2 crew in 118th reconnaissance air squadron with Heroes of the Soviet Union Alexey V. Kozlov and Anton R. Slivka. There is a photo of pilot in front of his Lavochkin La-7 plane dated 1945. There are two photos taken at Leningrad front of a Red Banner of unidentified Guard Air Fighter Regiment with regimental personnel and their Bell P-39 Airacobra planes.

There is a new sub-section for aviation related photos in a Germany section. There are five photos were added. The photo of puppy poses on a tail assembly of Fw190 plane, the photo of Luftwaffe NCO with armourer’s trade patch in front of a Fw190A-6. There are photos of two crashed planes: the first one is a He111 landed in a snow field near Rzhew and another one is a Bf109E-1 ‘Yellow 11’ of 3./Jagdgeschwader 53 ‘Pik As’ flown by Heinrich Leschert emergency landed on a beach in Boulogne. There is a photo of two Bf110Ñ-1 fighter planes with "sharks mouth" nose paint of 5./Zerstörergeschwader 76.

We collected many single photos and groups during our work on this web-site and many interesting single photos and groups were shared with us by our contributors as well, mostly German and Soviet. We are proud to announce that time to share them with our visitors has come! With these photos we start new sub-sections in our archive. There are several themes for establishing new sub-sections like: aviation, artillery, motor vehicles, tanks and self propelled guns, planes and equipment captured by Red Army and Wehrmacht, portraits and groups, various photos. Next update of our archive will be published on-line on Sunday, February 12.

There is a new photo album in archive of a soldier who served in the Luftwaffe barrage balloons detachment - 6/Luftsperr Ersatz Abteilung I. This unit protected the city and the port of Emden during RAF air raids. Album contains photos taken in 1939-1941. There are photos of barrage balloons unit personnel in various activities like trainings, balloons servicing and combat action. There are interesting photos of Luftwaffe personnel pose in front of a large kite that was used for training purposes. There are combat photos taken during night air raids of Royal Air Forces to Germany: flak artillery of various calibers firing, search lights, shot down RAF plane parts, destructed buildings and bombed barrage balloons positions. Along with military photos there are shots of daily life scenes, birthdays and Christmas celebration, photos taken during vacations and family shots. Album contains numerous photos of historical sites of cities Bad-Saarow, Worms-am-Rhein, Emden and Berlin: Honor Guard, Brandenburg Gate, Reichstag building, Reich Chancellery etc.

We are working on a photo album belonged to the Luftwaffe flak artillery Gefreiter in barrage balloons battery that protected the city and port of Emden. Album contains photos taken during 1939-1941. There are photos of soldiers and officers of barrage balloons battery in various activities like trainings, combat action, Christmas celebration etc. There are photos of barrage balloons and its maintenance equipment. There are photos taken during air raids of British aviation to Germany: night photos of flak artillery in action, destructed buildings, bombed barrage balloons positions. There are many excellent photos of historical sites and objects taken in cities Bad-Saarow, Worms-am-Rhein and Emden. There are photos taken during the trip to Berlin with a very famous places like Brandenburger Tor, Reichstag building, Reich Chancellery etc. Album will be published on Sunday, January 15.
