The commander of III /Fallschirmjäger-Regiment 1 Karl-Lothar Schultz, winner of the German Cross in gold (26.02.1942) and the Knight’s Cross (24.05.1940) with oak leaves (20.04.1944) and swords (18.11.1944). Schultz was promoted to the rank of Generalmajor (17. 01.1945) and ended the war as a commander of 1. Fallschirm-Division.

Olympic champion and Knight Cross winner Alfred Schwarzmann dressed in Heer uniform with the Army paratrooper badge.
